Ah, it's back. And there was much rejoicing.
Wow, you read a LOT of books! Very admirable.
Hmm...I notice a lot less blogs, books and films once you started work at Google. I am guessing that is not a coincidence :).In German, Mahlen is prounounced Ma Len (like "Ma, get me some more food! and Len like in lens", in case you cared.Hey, if you get bitten by those dogs at work let me know...my husband is a dog bite attorney!
Sadly, I don't share an office with George anymore, as I've moved offices several times since those pictures.Well, it was really the blogging that slowed down to a crawl. And I can really blame Google. If you look at my blog posts from year to year, there's a clear burst of activity the first couple years, and then it dwindled down. The reviews in particular felt like a burden; this overhang of stuff I hadn't written about getting longer and longer...Then the machine that was hosting my site in my garage died, and while I wanted to get it back running, I made the project bigger than it needed to be. In fact, it was after I joined Google that I realized that Google's blog and photos and video services do all the things I used to do myself, and better.I think the drop of off was due mainly to the fact that I just don't like writing as much as serious bloggers do. So it's not entirely that I read less or see fewer movies; I just don't write about them anymore. But it also true that I read a bit less than I did in the past. It usually about 12-13 hours between when I leave in the morning and when I get home. And rather than sitting on the couch reading in the evening, as Diane and I used to do, we tend to sit and watch TV/Netflix or I'll play video games (which I've always done).I should pick up my reviews again; maybe just wander the shelves and note the things I really loved.
That should have been, "I can't really blame Google." That was another thing about reading my old posts that bugged me; way too many typos.
